Boot Scootin' Boogie 'Lucky 13!'
The 13th Annual Boot Scootin' Boogie, held at Country Classic Kennels in Arlington was a total success.
We headed down late Friday afternoon, arrived about 8pm. Checked into the hotel and headed over to help set up. Thanks to Carolyn Money for the great organization and tremendous facility! A couple of us warmed up our dogs and finally we got out at about 11pm.
Set the alarm for 8am, woke up at 7 - Don't know why, guess I just too excited to get back in the ring again. Grabbed some breakfast from the Quality Inn, and finally headed over at about 9am.
Saw many people that I haven't seen for at least 10 years. It was great seeing you all again.
Competition began at about 11am, starting with Dressage Team. A nice routine was presented by my fellow freestylers here in the Lower Mainland - A job well done! Continued thru to the freestyle, saw some very nice dogs - Real creative routines and some really ready-to-please dogs. A big congrats to Lavonne Lennox for successfully getting her first leg of
Novice at her very first competition. Everyone very much enjoyed your routine!
Lunch started at about 1pm with a great meal from Corinne and Mitzi, it was very much enjoyed
by everyone.
Next was Dressage - Another great group of routines we saw. One that really impressed me
was Annettte Granbois and Jake. A nice attitude, great position, great attention as well. It's
amazing to see how much you have evolved as a handler over the years. Well done, Annette!
Wrapped up with awards - Some highlights... Kathy Weaver won High Artistic as well as coming
second in Advanced. Tristan Underwood won the Advanced division, High Technical, as well as High Overall. Joan picked up High Versatility - Another congrats, Poet has become quite a performer! Annette Granbois and Jake picked up their second leg of intermediate and have now moved up to Advanced. Full event results coming soon!
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, truly one to remember - Looking forward
to next year!
